Why become a member of IATSE Local 415?

Local 415 is a union of industry professionals with common goals. We are dedicated to the protection of safe and fair working conditions. Our tools are collective bargaining and collective action. Unions are the best anti-poverty, middle-class supporting program in our nation, and are a key to turning around the growing gap between the haves and have-nots.

IATSE Local 415 is a democratic institution. This means that as a member you have a voice and a vote within the Union.

Who should apply?

  • Workers already taking job referrals through the Local 415 hiring hall are encouraged to apply.
  • If you are brand new to stagecraft, or to Tucson, consider filling out an application for work referral first, and getting to know our members before applying for membership. Membership in the union is not a pre-requisite for getting work under Local 415 contracts.
  • If you already work in the theatrical/convention industry in Tucson, but don't have union representation, you and your co-workers have the option of forming a union. We call this process "organizing." In these cases, union membership is offered for free to everyone covered under the new contract with your employer. To learn more about this process and to get started, call the Local 415 Business Agent at 520-882-9126 or businessagent@iatse415.org.
